The Wall Street Journal reports on an emerging trend of employers hiring more part-time workers, or limiting workers' schedules to less than 30 hours a week, to avoid having to purchase health insurance or incur a fine under the Affordable Care Act.

This trend is one of the first visible signs of businesses moving to lessen the burden of the healthcare law. According to the Journal, whether the shift will continue depends on the outcome of Tuesday's election.
