Legal Transportation of Firearms, HR4269
Dear Representatives and Senators
Innocent folks have gone to jail, their civil rights denied, because local jurisdictions fail to uphold the Firearm Owners Protection Act, arresting and jailing travelers for legally transporting cased and unloaded firearms.
House Resolution 4269, "To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to more comprehensively address the interstate transportation of firearms or ammunition," would refine and legally protect the rights of gun owners who are transporting firearms under FOPA no matter what states they travel through, including New Jersey and New York that routinely and improperly fail to obey federal law.
Surely, as you have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights, any suppression of the legal right to keep bear arms must be eliminated.
Please cosponsor, promote, and pass H.R. 4269, to protect legal transportation of firearms and to stop the harassment of law-abiding gun owners.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Citizen
