"Wounds" of Communism

On Saturday the 26th of September Pope Benedict XVI speaking in the capital city Prague of the Czech Republic, a mostly secular Central European nation, decried the 'wounds' left by atheistic communism and urged a return to Christian roots.

Unfortuately for the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church in the Czech Republic, over half of the nation's population declare themselves non-believers. The new Republic's goverment has yet to return the  St. Vitus Cathedral given to the 'state' by the previous communist regime.

Many wounds left by the evils of communism are still open and weeping. Some have healed and in the future we may see new challenges for the people and nations of the increasingly secular EU (European Union). The arrival of hundreds of thousands to millions of Muslims from North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia will increasingly challenge the 'secular' citizens of the EU in ways that will destabilize their governments.
