ACORN - Time to crack the nut

Our elected representatives need to initiate an investigation into the expenditure of federal (i.e. taxpayer) funds to support the groups under the ACORN umbrella.

ACORN is the acronym for Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Some points:

1. Recently undercover investigators (independent film makers) posing as a pimp and prostitute received advice from ACORN employees in San Bernardino CA, Brooklyn NY, Baltimore MD, and Washington DC on how to get a housing loan and evade federal taxes while operating their business of importing underage women/girls from El Salvador for the sex trade. Congress passes laws against human trafficking while simultaneously proving ACORN with over $53 million in federal (i.e. taxpayer or citizen) money since 1994 (averaging over $3 million per year) PLUS additional 'probable' millions in state, local, and special grants (i.e. taxpayer money) to support this.

2. In Florida, 11 ACORN workers were acused by prosecuters of falsifying information on 888 voter registration forms. See below...

3. In Las Vegas, election officials reported that about 48% of the voter registration forms turned in by ACORN employees were 'clearly fradulent'. See below...

4. In Las Vegas, ACORN itself was charged with with 13 counts of illegally using a quota system to compensate workers in an effort to boost the number of registrations. What is their real goal - because it doesn't seem to be to actually have people vote?!?

5. ACORN fights unionization efforts by its own employees. On the other hand it accepted $7.4 million in contributions from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) between 2005 and 2008. They take money from a union but forbid and fire their employees if they try to unionize - hmmm..............

6. ACORN was previously sanctioned by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in 2003 for illegally firing workers trying to organize a union. Democrats in Congress, like Speaker Nancy Pelosi 'protect' ACORN (a group that doesn't want to allow its workers to unionize) while simultaneously arguing for more 'Employee Free Choice'?!? - the left hand doesn't seem to know or care what the right hand is doing.

7. ACORN founder Wade Rathke was forced by the board to resign last year (2008) after he tried covering up over $1 million in emblezzled funds. He now works in New Orleans for the local SEIU (yes, the same union that funded ACORN while he was fighting the unionization of ACORN's own employees).

8. ACORN's CFO (Chief Financial Officer), Dale Rathke, brother of the founder Wade Rathke, was the actual embezzler of the $1 in funds (yes, it seems to run in the family).

The list goes on and on............................
