Face of Communism - 3 - The Evil Empire
Why is there a political 'love affair' with communism and the communist system?
The basic principles of communism and a 'workers paradise' are a great sell. The utopian communist system (which can't exist when we have fallible and imperfect humans running it) is still appealing to many of our own American intellectuals. They support and admire this system because it sounds good. They have tenured positions in many of our nation's finests universities.
They denigrate the actual results of communism in the world (tens of millions of people in the Soviet Union murdered by their own government; tens of millions of Chinese murdered by their own government; probably hundereds of thousands or maybe millions of North Koreans murdered by their own government). They casually and willfully dismiss criticism of the communism system because 'the system is perfect' but the execution so far has been poor.

The EXECUTION of MILLIONS of people in the name of COMMUNISM is not the result of a 'perfect' or 'utopian' or even 'less than perfect' adaptation of a system of government.

Communism IS evil, has BEEN evil, and will CONTINUE to be EVIL!
If the romantic intellectuals like the system so much, perhaps they would volunteer to move to North Korea or one of the few remaining Marxist-Leninist or communist states in the world and 'improve' them from the inside?
They won't because it is much easier to pontificate about utopia and how we (yes, Americans) have failed to appreciate the subtle 'positives' of such a system. They don't want to get their hands 'dirty', but they'll continue to preach their left-wing (communist, Marxist, etc...) views to the children and youth of America because WE LET THEM.
Why?
We have freedom of speech - the First Amendment of the Constitution.
Do you think they had free speech under Stalin, Hitler, Mao, or right now in North Korea?
NO. NO. NO.
If someone speaks about another political system and how it is better than the communist one, they get arrested, imprisoned, shot, deported to a labor or concentration camp (alone or with their entire family).
And this is a 'utopia'????
