James Madison - Why does the Government (i.e. politicians) FEAR the People? - NO to Gun Control!
"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms."
COMMENTS:
1. Governments (i.e. politicians, mostly the wealthy and privileged classes) fear the common People!
2. Governments (i.e. politicians) want to impose their sense of 'fairness' ON the People! (defined as special rules and regulations that make them (politicians) wealthier and us (the People) poorer.
3. To impose their sense of 'fairness' they have to ensure that the People cannot resist them
4. To break down resistance and impede against their (the politician's personal interests) they use the hammer or blugeon of the 'government' to DISARM the People.
5. If the People don't posses the tools of self defense then the government (through its agents in the military, police, federal 'law' enforcement, security agencies, etc...) can Impose more resitrictions.... Hitler and the NAZI party did this very well as an 'elected' party who gained control of Germany, disarmed the Jews and sent them, the Gypsies (Roma), political prisoners, and other opposition groups & people to concentration camps, firing squads, gas chambers, or the scaffolds. The Brownshirts under Mussolini did the same in Italy and Franco's fascists in Spain, Stalin's Bolsheviks (Communists) in the Soviet Union, Mao's Communists in China, etc...
