STATE versus SOCIETY or the State defining Society?

"The great non sequitur committed by defenders of the State, including classical Aristotelian and Thomist philosophers, is to leap from the necessity of society to the necessity of the State."

-- Murray N. Rothbard

(1926-1995) Dean of the Austrian School of Economics

COMMENT: During the first century of US history SOCIETY defined Americans, not the state. During the last half to full century, the STATE has become much more prominent in defining society. As the State is promulgated by American politicians as necessary to save us from ourselves the NATION slides down a slippery slope into eventual authoritarian rule. Where STATE dominates: communism, fascism or national socialism, and dictatorship.
