Pencils Down? French Plan Would End Homework by Eleanor Beardsley NPR - December 2, 2012

In the name of equality, the French government has proposed doing away with homework in elementary and junior high school. French President Francois Hollande argues that homework penalizes children with difficult home situations, but even the people whom the proposal is supposed to help disagree....

COMMENT: Homework would go away in the government run public schools because it would be "too hard" for some and to make it equal "all" would be "liberated from the burden and BENEFITS" of doing homework. What is NOT said? This will not apply to expensive, private, elite schools for the children of the rich and politically connected. They'll continue to do homework and a lot more to prepare them to inherit their parent's roles as leaders of government, business and supervising the "commoners" below or beneath them.
