Burger King Turns 55

The 4th of December 1954 is the official "birthday" of Burger King so the 'King' turns 55 this year. So what does BK have to do with the secure future, i.e. Defigo Postremo, of the USA?

Perhaps not as iconic a symbol of America as McDonalds, Burger King is nevertheless one of the two largest burger chains in America. Following behind the double golden arches and the king, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, Whataburger, White Castle, Hardes, Carls Jr, 5 Guys, and others are a less prominent part of the US and international landscape. Chain restaurants, corporate and franchised, employ hundreds of thousands to millions of Americans in thousands of cities and towns, in both urban and rural areas. Their successes or failures have a ripple effect on local economies and local businesses even though much of their products come from coporate warehouses to ensure quality control. Local employees spend paychecks at local businesses and pay taxes to localities spread across the breadth of America.
